A Gimps View From The North

POLITITIONS ARE MOST ANNOYING

It's not enough that our present prime minister won his post with a platform of one plank and a rotten one at that,(I was Sharon's #2), he is now, with a popularity of a whopping 2%, that's right two whole percent, refusing to resign. He has a few friends encouraging him in his refusal to go home. They are pushing the theory that now is not the time for elections, and that he is the only one who can fix his mistakes, among other similar gems of wisdom. They may well be right, but are more likely wrong.
One of his exLikud ministers called for him to resign after he told her that if she did that, he would fire her. As of last night, he hadn't. She is next in line to take over if/when he goes home. I'd much prefer her over Peres.
After hearing the list of all the polititions who will be speaking at the demonstration in Tel Aviv tonight, I've decided not to go, but to go to Nazareth to visit friends. All the lefty peaceniks are going to speaking there in an effort to get their agenda moving forward again in a headlong rush to the destruction of the country.

Well, what's worse? You could have someone say "bring it on" or "mission accomplished". That would set headlines ablaze. (humorically speaking)

Things are quite hot in Tel Aviv tonight. After watching the whole thing on the news I've come to the conclusion that I was wise indeed to stay home. Had i gone, there would have been a riot at the least and it's too hot (80) to even think about it. So, yes, things could easily have been set ablaze.

What about Netanyahu? What do the Israelis think of him? He always sounds good when he talks here.

    What say you?

    Peppermint,
Israelis are mostly ambivalent about Netanyahu, except for those who either hate him or love him. I hope he wins the next election whenever it takes place. I have more than a few issues with hi, but on the whole think he is far and away the best choice we have.

To the Netanyahu. Man you got to admire the guy. You could not ask for a better spokesman in the states. (I suppose they all have "issues" but...)

Hey, come on! That's a new 32" LCD. I'm not likely to throw anything at it. Much cheaper and almost as satisfying to scratch myself bald and cuss at the screen in 3 or 4 languages!

Yeah, Netanyahu. I've been a supporter since way back. His first headquarters in town was my now defunct motorcycle garage. In fact there was a group of us bikers who gave him a motorcycle escort when ever he was up here. Israelis suffer from at least one of the ailments Americans have. They just don't listen and run their mouths off in their entrenched direction with no regard to facts.
